Every year, Hindus celebrate Ram Navami on the ninth day of Hindu month of Chaitra. It coincides with the festival of Vasant or Chaitra Navratri. According to Hindu scriptures, the reason most of the temples have the idol of Hanuman colored in saffron or red color is that he was born in the Vanara community, having the body of reddish orange color. After the aarti is performed, devotees apply the sindur to their and other devotees’ forehead and distribute the prasad to everyone present there.
